Die Musik- und Jazzmetropole Berlin festigt mit der JAZZKOMM ihre Position als Sprungbrett und künstlerischer Katalysator für Talente aus Deutschland und der Welt. Die durchweg hohe Qualität der Künstler dürfte das Publikum und die Fachbesucher begeistern. Dies gilt übrigens nicht nur für die Künstler des Abendprogramms, sondern uneingeschränkt auch für die Künstler bei den Tages-Showcases der JAZZKOMM.
Der Vormittag (10 Uhr – 12 Uhr) gehört der JAZZKOMM-Konferenz mit täglich zwei (am Freitag drei) Themen, die von dem Journalisten Christian Broecking und der Journalistin Maxi Sickert (Gespräch mit Klarinettist Rolf Kühn) moderiert werden, sowie ein Strategieworkshop für Jazzunternehmen von Dirk Kiefer.. Ab mittags (13 Uhr – 19 Uhr) steht mit dem "Friseur" ein Raum für die zwanzigminütigen Day-Showcases auf dem Flughafen Tempelhof zur Verfügung.
Die Nacht beginnt ab 19:30 Uhr mit rund 45-minütigen JAZZKOMM-Showcase-Konzerten im Rahmen des JAZZKOMM-Showcase-Festivals. Eingeleitet werden die Showcase-Abende im frannz Club von einem Dokumentarfilmprogramm, das zusammengestellt wurde vom UNERHÖRT! Musikfilmfestival aus Hamburg. Es präsentiert an allen vier Abenden Porträts von Albert Mangelsdorff, Peter Herbolzheimer, Klaus Doldinger, Sunny Murray sowie einen Konzertmitschnitt u.a. mit Jean Paul Bourelly.
